This piece was riveting for me...definitely a "wait in the driveway" story for a 58-year-old that lived all of this directly as a teenager just miles from the AEC Rocky Flats weapons plant just west of Denver. Mesmerizing rich sound. Truly moving interviews and a mix of historic audio from that era of government assurance for something far more dangerous than was disclosed.
Defense of freedom has many prices. Government is but people acting in what they often believe to be the best interests of the nation, but for which often little real global truth is known defining the associated risks, particularly when it comes to defense technologies. How appropriate in this age of resurgent concern about nuclear weapons in response to perceived threats.
