Since 1978, the Talking Information Center has operated as a non-profit, non-commercial radio reading service network providing 24/7 programming to people who are blind, legally blind or print handicapped.  It is a free service.

Our primary source of funding is the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind.  There are only three full time employees.  The programs are broadcast on the FM sub-carriers of 15 radio stations throughout Massachusetts, one low power FM open channel station, cable audio channels as well as streamed live on the Internet.  Six affiliates throughout the state supplement network programming with inserts of local news.  Over 600 volunteer readers provide all of the reading.  All network programming is archived and available for live stream or download at our web site.

Over 20,000 people with disabilities depend on the service.
