After listening to the piece from Tre Joyner I was thrilled. Based on all the information that was given to support his topic was amazing. In his piece he talked about how the ?N? word and how it should not be band. Reason for that being is because even without the term you can still make a racist insults. Listening to this piece made me have change of heart banning the ?N? word because like Mr. Joyner has said, there will be always something to replace the ?N? word with another adjective. Tre Joyner supports his opinion very well. He says that people use the word as a habit. Comparing the word to a cigarette, you know it is bad for you, but you do it anyways. Like the ?N? word, has a bad meaning, but yet people still use the word.
This piece is brilliant.
im black and even though racial slurs are disgusting and reflect hatred and ignorance, i would NEVER ban saying the n word. america is founded on freedom of speech. black people are no exception. end of story.
