Northern fur seals by the village of St. Paul, Alaska

A marine mammal mystery told in bite-size chunks.

KUCB's SEAL is a 4-part documentary, a real-life mystery from the outer perimeter of the Last Frontier: Alaska's Pribilof Islands.

Midway between Alaska and Russia, the Pribilofs are home to several hundred Aleut people and to half a million fur seals: the largest gathering of marine mammals in the northern hemisphere. But the seals are disappearing.

Something is happening in the depths of the Bering Sea that has the People of the Seals struggling to keep a culture alive and scientists struggling to solve a mystery.
