This week we are celebrating the Salvation Army and their contributions to the band world.  Founded in 1865, in London, by William Booth, the Salvation Army now has over a million and a half adherents worldwide.  We see a lot of volunteers with red kettles this time of year, and so many of us have had the pleasure of listening to Salvationists bands playing Christmas carols that it seems to help set the season.  And that’s exactly what we’ll hear here, some wonderful music by some wonderful bands.  We have medleys of carols, and some special arrangements of individual Christmas songs, new and old, all played by Salvationist bands, right here, at the gathering place for people who love band music, Wind & Rhythm.
